Texas Companies Make the Move to cloud-based Sage Intacct
In recent years, more and more companies have decided to transition from on-premises, server-based accounting software to cloud-based systems. The reasons for the move to the cloud include real-time updates, ease of access to information, increased efficiency, lower maintenance, and superior security. Growing companies such as ConnectGen, LIVESTRONG, Edwards Aquifer Authority, The Long Center, and the San Antonio Board of Realtors are among those that have seamlessly transitioned to cloud-based ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems to help them reach their business goals.
Each of these companies faced challenges with its server-based software. The challenges included limited tracking and reporting capability, cumbersome access to information, and the near impossibility of working remotely. These disadvantages were limiting efficiency and productivity for each company.
The Long Center, a performing arts venue located in Austin, is a great example. With their busy schedule, The Long Center needed to know which of the shows they presented were successful. Because of their system’s extremely minimal reporting options, their staff was spending weeks pulling information together for board meetings. The information was in multiple places so, gathering it together into one cohesive report was difficult and time-consuming. Ultimately, they didn’t have access to enough data to identify which shows performed well and which ones didn’t.
The Long Center teamed up with Express Information systems for help transitioning to Sage Intacct, a cloud-based solution that the AICPA named as its first and only preferred provider of accounting applications. After implementation, they were immediately able to improve reporting for all stakeholders and have a clear insight into which shows were successful and profitable. They now enjoy enhanced reporting, more insight into their business, and fewer manual processes.
The San Antonio Board of Realtors (SABOR) also faced similar challenges. They had limited tracking and reporting capabilities for their locations, cost centers, and departments. Additionally, the existing system required data to be exported to Excel to produce financial statements. Today, with the implementation of Sage Intacct, SABOR can automate the financial reporting process, allowing the entire staff to have more time for their other business-generating pursuits.
