Mission Ridge Range & Academy is San Antonio’s premier shooting sports venue. It has the only 100-yard indoor range, the largest gun selection, virtual training simulator, and separate archery and gun lanes.
Mike Gilley, the owner of Mission Ridge, and his controller were extremely frustrated with the limitations of QuickBooks. They were using a legacy Point-of-Sale system to manage the retail aspects of their business and then having to manually key information into QuickBooks. Having multiple entities set up in QuickBooks made inter-company transactions, allocations, and consolidated reporting extremely cumbersome. In order to produce year-end financial reports, they spent over 100 hours compiling very complex spreadsheets.
With the knowledge that their current systems and processes weren’t where they wanted them to be, and knowing that opening their second location in Plano in October 2020 would provide an additional layer of complexity and double their total number of employees, they reached out to Microsoft to find a partner that could help them. Microsoft recommended they reach out to Express Information Systems.
For Mission Ridge, the ideal solution was Microsoft Dynamics 365. It provided everything they desired including:
- A fully integrated ERP system with data flowing between their Point-of-Sale software, retail operations management software, Salesforce.com, and their website.
- The ability to automate and eliminate manual data entry between entities and simplify financial reporting.
- A single system of record for all customers and have visibility into their membership type, purchase history, level of engagement, etc., all immediately visible to the retail store employee assisting that customer.
- Real-time financial and operational dashboards for each department-level manager in Power BI
