As much as ERP software can really move the needle for SMBs, it’s also critical to find the right partner. Here are three common times it may be time to cut ties and move into another company.
Support Availability Is Lacking
When you support team is there, they are great. However, coordinating a “remote in” session or trying to get immediate help when something goes wrong is becoming a growing challenge. Whether it’s your time zone or you support team’s limited hours of availability, this is a serious red flag. You are paying for their help, and if you aren’t getting it when you need it the most, then you aren’t getting the full value out of your product.
Growing Too Fast, Losing 1:1 Experience
When you first signed on with your ERP vendor, they were always available. On-site help wasn’t hard to come by, and you were really feeling the love. However, now the company has been scaling at a speed they can’t keep up with, and you just don’t feel as important as you used to. Now when you call for on-site support, you can’t even secure a slot.
Lack of Direct Industry Knowledge
This one’s a biggie. Your support team’s great, but when it comes to industry-specific questions you often find them having to research your questions and get back to you. You have the feeling that they lack direct knowledge of your industry and that perhaps you could do better.
If you’re having doubts about whether your ERP partner is the right match for you, try seeking other companies that can better meet your needs. Start with an initial consulting session and take it from there!
